Preben explained
You're the guy in the bottom middle of the screen (Preben). From the left and right at the top of the screen come atomically mutated green elephants with fly-wings. At the same time, vicious killer-bees are attacking Preben from both sides at the bottom of the screen. The object of the game is quite simple: Survive 3 minutes in this inferno, by shooting the bees and elephants, and collect as many points as possible.
Controls
Press the left and right arrows to make Preben move.
Press Spacebar to shoot. When you die or the 3 minutes are over, press Enter.
Point System
For each bee you shoot you get 3 points.
The points you get for shooting an elephant depend on how long it's been on the screen — the faster you shoot it, the more points: 7, 5, 3, 2 or 0 points by position.
If an elephant gets all the way across and leaves the screen you loose 10 points.
If you shoot, but miss, you loose 2 points.

Bonuses
★ 'DYGTIG' bonus ★
If you complete a 3 minute run without letting any elephant leave the
screen, and have a hit ratio of 91,00% or above, you will receive
100 bonus points.
★★ 'HARDCORE' bonus ★★
If you complete a 3 minute run shooting all elephants at 7, 5 or 3
points, and have a hit ratio of 93,00% or above, you will receive
200 bonus points.
★★★ 'ULTRA-HARDCORE' bonus ★★★
If you complete a 3 minute run shooting all elephants at 7 or 5
points, and have a hitrate of 95,00% or above, you will receive
300 bonus points.
Hit Ratio
The hit ratio is only important if you want the bonus points. It has no relevance on the highscore. That is why you can see a run with lower hit rate than another placed higher on the highscore. The only thing that matters in the end is how many points you have, but then again: If you have a high hit-rate, you have the chance to score 100, 200, even 300 bonus points, so be accurate...
Hold down them arrow-buttons
In the game, there is especially one tip that makes a difference: Don't tap the arrow-buttons when trying to reach from a bee on one side, to a bee on the other. If you keep the arrow-button down, instead of tapping it six times, you should be able to keep the bees of your back. When you are a bit more skilled, you'll also be able to go from one elephant on one side to an elephant on the other, without tapping your way. This will speed up the pace quite a bit.
A proper keyboard
It is also important that your keyboard isn't too slow. Preben på Eventyr automatically sets the repeat-rate as fast as the original did (250 milliseconds until the first repeat, 30 repeats per second) — and in this edition you can adjust both under Settings. But especially modern keyboards have a tendency to have 'slow' keys that has to be pressed deep before they react. It is recommended to get hands on an old broken-down keyboard from 1987 where the keys react when you breathe on them.
